KATHARINE WHALEN

Katharine Whalen is an artist, musician, and educator.  Her grandmother was the prop-mistress of the Flat Rock Playhouse in Hendersonville, NC, and instilled an early love of the theatre in her heart.  She has previously designed costumes for the ArtsCenter’s 10 by 10 Festival.  As a musician, she has been a member of  Squirrel Nut Zippers, Katharine Whalen’s Lucky, and Parlour Folk Troupe.  Current projects include Fascinators, Jazz Squad, and Wiley Fosters.  She has exhibited her millinery and mixed-media work at The Outsiders Art Gallery and The Carrack as Selenotropic.
